2010 was an incredible inaugural year for NEXUS BYT. We had 10+ dedicated volunteer leaders to bless the socks of 25 students from around the Bendigo Region. In its first year, NEXUS achieved its goal of connecting Youth, Years 7-12, in the Bendigo Region.  Students from Bendigo Senior Secondary, Bendigo South East Secondary College, Crusoe College, Creek Street Christian College, Eaglehawk Secondary College, Girton Grammar, Victory Christian College, and Weeroona College have joined the NEXUS team’s production of Disney’s ‘Beauty and the Beast’. We began auditions in March and ended with an extraordinary performance of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast in July 2010.  The 25 students from a variety of schools (Years 7-12) around Bendigo worked together, not only to perform, but to build a beautiful community relationship. The results for NEXUS BYT surpassed all that we had expected.  The NEXUS leadership came together with gifts and talents that allowed for an amazing team.  Over 500 people attended the 3 performances. The reviews were fantastic, including a glowing review from the mayor of Bendigo Rod Campbell.
